Happy Monday Everyone!
I thought I would post my favorite pins of the week.
What do you guys think?
Happy New Year!
I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I last checked in with the blogosphere, but I’ve just been so preoccupied.
In about 2 weeks, I’ll have my first meeting about my semester abroad in London!
I might be taking a photography course, a contemporary British theatre course, and an art course, where I’d be spending time in some of London’s collections.
214 days away and counting!
I’m daydreaming about returning to the Upper East Side in the near future.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m still alive on the blogosphere.
Sometimes life (aka school) gets in the way.
Now that finals are over, I’m ready to reboot over Winter break.
I’ve been busy Christmas shopping as well!
Lately, I’ve really been into The LOFT and J Crew Factory.
My must haves on my wish list this year include shift dresses, romantic blouses, and infiniti scarves.
I’ve also become obsessed with the James Bond OPI collection. Currently, I’m sporting “You Only Live Twice,” which is perfect for the holiday season.
Happy Post Election Day!
I cannot believe the election is over! Speaking of elections, I felt inspired by celebrations going on across the country, and began dreaming of how I could organize a dinner party to celebrate with friends and family, just for the sake of being able to spend time together.
Now I know Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but I want to organize a dinner party for my friends when I’m home during my next break.
I’m feeling in the mood for a kind of autumn and leaves “rustic” feel to celebrate the rest of the season until the tide turns for the winter holidays.
Here are some ideas I found I’d like to work with:
Courtesy of Martha Stewart, glass votives, wrapped in dried cornhusks, cast a soft glow and make beautiful fall favors.
I found this on style me pretty. I like the use of burlap and the texture the twine adds to the mood. Very autumn outdoors. The jewel adds a touch of vintage antique that makes it classic.
Here’s another take on the burlap textured look from Pinterest. I would stick to autumn themed colors.
This table number idea I found on Pinterest would also fit in great with the theme. Though instead of numbers, I might use these jars for my guests’ names.
I love this pumpkin candle centerpiece, also from Pinterest. It adds to the “shabby chic” factor with the small sparkle added to the napkin ring seen above.
It also hints at the sparkle to be expected once the winter holiday season kicks off soon!
Happy Thursday! Also, happy 1st day of November!
I thought I would share some of my favorite “pins” I found on Pinterest this week!
Don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest here.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
As you might have noticed, I have my first official link/advertisement/whatever you want to call it on the right hand side of my blog.
It’s a link to sign up for Shop it To Me.
A while back I posted about a cute Anthropologie jacket I found via Shop it To Me.
Well somehow, it caught the attention of Shop it To Me, and I received an email from them asking me to become a part of their blogger Trendsetter’s program!
I couldn’t believe it!
Here’s what they sent me:
“Trendsetters is an elite group of bloggers, similar to you, that serves as kind of an advisory board for us. We make sure you’re the first to know about exciting news, updates, and fun blogger opportunities(giveaways, interviews, events, etc.). It’s little work with fun perks!”
So I will definitely be keeping you posted on anything that comes up, and will definitely be sharing it on here!
Here’s a link to their blog, and of course, you can always check out their website by clicking on my handy referral badge to the right!
Some cute jewelry I found while perusing Shop it To Me.
Happy Friday everyone!
I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a long while. I’ve been busy with midterm examinations and projects, and planning ahead for the next couple of semesters.
I woke up this morning wanting to wear a silk shirt, but was glad I didn’t. It ended up being a cold, foggy, and windy morning.
Summer seemed to linger too long at school, so the leaves on campus are finally turning.
With Thanksgiving break in about 3 weeks, the reality has set in that those wonderful Indian Summer days are far behind us.
So it’s time I plan ahead for winter coats.
So without further ado, here are my Friday Favorites from Warehouse.
Happy Friday everyone!
I enjoyed my first day of fall break by sleeping in as late as I possibly could, and by watching some movies on Netflix.
I finally watched the Oscar nominated True Grit, and I must say, it was fantastic. (And that’s coming from someone who has nothing to do with western films.)
Random fact to throw out there: I actually auditioned for the role of Maddie Ross in True Grit.
Anyways, with the leaves casually beginning to fall off the trees at my house and the air beginning to grow crisp, I realized it’s time to begin to break out the cozy sweaters and cardigans.
Which brings me to my Friday Favorites.
Here are some sweaters that are on my wish list for the cold weather ahead.
How would you like to be able to wear stylish quality clothing and help a good cause all at the same time?
Well you can do just that by buying clothing from People Tree.
People Tree has been a pioneer in Fair Trade and environmentally sustainable fashion in the UK since 2001.
People Tree works to improve the lives and environment of artisans and farmers in developing countries across the globe who work to make quality eco-friendly clothing.
Emma Watson has been a supporter of People Tree in the past, and even helped design several clothing lines for People Tree.
If you cannot order the clothing from the UK, in the US you can purchase pieces from People Tree’s collection from ASOS.
It’s a great way to be able to look and feel beautiful on the inside and out, and know you are helping to make someone’s life better.
Two of my favorite dresses to wear are from People Tree, and I always feel good when I wear them. They’re a good reminder to have knowing that in some small way, I’m helping others.
You should do the same!
Here are some of my favorite People Tree pieces from ASOS and the People Tree website.
Happy Wednesday to you all!
I am really excited that my fall break starts tomorrow afternoon.
Celebrating this wonderful season, I thought I would showcase my favorite pieces that come in Fall Fashion’s biggest color of the moment: Oxblood.
The word may not be appealing, but the shade is divine!
I hope to incorporate it into my wardrobe this season.
