Falling in love with dinner parties

Happy Post Election Day!

I cannot believe the election is over! Speaking of elections, I felt inspired by celebrations going on across the country, and began dreaming of how I could organize a dinner party to celebrate with friends and family, just for the sake of being able to spend time together.

Now I know Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but I want to organize a dinner party for my friends when I’m home during my next break.

I’m feeling in the mood for a kind of autumn and leaves “rustic” feel to celebrate the rest of the season until the tide turns for the winter holidays.

Here are some ideas I found I’d like to work with:

Courtesy of Martha Stewart, glass votives, wrapped in dried cornhusks, cast a soft glow and make beautiful fall favors.

I found this on style me pretty. I like the use of burlap and the texture the twine adds to the mood. Very autumn outdoors. The jewel adds a touch of vintage antique that makes it classic.

Here’s another take on the burlap textured look from Pinterest. I would stick to autumn themed colors.

This table number idea I found on Pinterest would also fit in great with the theme. Though instead of numbers, I might use these jars for my guests’ names.

I love this pumpkin candle centerpiece, also from Pinterest. It adds to the “shabby chic” factor with the small sparkle added to the napkin ring seen above.

It also hints at the sparkle to be expected once the winter holiday season kicks off soon!

Freezing Friday

Happy Friday everyone!

I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a long while. I’ve been busy with midterm examinations and projects, and planning ahead for the next couple of semesters.

I woke up this morning wanting to wear a silk shirt, but was glad I didn’t. It ended up being a cold, foggy, and windy morning.

Summer seemed to linger too long at school, so the leaves on campus are finally turning.

With Thanksgiving break in about 3 weeks, the reality has set in that those wonderful Indian Summer days are far behind us.

So it’s time I plan ahead for winter coats.

So without further ado, here are my Friday Favorites from Warehouse.

Color of the moment: Oxblood

Happy Wednesday to you all!

I am really excited that my fall break starts tomorrow afternoon.

Celebrating this wonderful season, I thought I would showcase my favorite pieces that come in Fall Fashion’s biggest color of the moment: Oxblood.

The word may not be appealing, but the shade is divine!

I hope to incorporate it into my wardrobe this season.

Nothing screams fall like Burberry

Going off of my Autumnal crave here are some of my favorite looks from the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2012/ Fall 2021 RTW collections.

Nothing screams “I want cold weather” like Burberry.

Christopher Bailey, I tip my hat off to you.

Autumn Adorations

Happy Sunday to you all!

I cannot believe that the first day of October is upon us.

I love the month of October. I adore the crisp air of Autumn and the changing of the leaves into beautiful hues of red, orange, and gold.

I also adore the change of weather and change of wardrobe.

I’ve always been a lover of layering, and it’s finally the time of year to seize the opportunity!

Over the weekend, while not studying for my State and Local Government course examination, I’ve once again been perusing and “pinning” my new found favorites on Pinterest.

Pinterest is the perfect place to browse for inspiration for fall ensembles and being able to categorize them all into one place, or “board.”

Here are some of my must haves for this fall courtesy of Pinterest, which is quite a lovely site, and quite addicting.
