Freezing Friday

Happy Friday everyone!

I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a long while. I’ve been busy with midterm examinations and projects, and planning ahead for the next couple of semesters.

I woke up this morning wanting to wear a silk shirt, but was glad I didn’t. It ended up being a cold, foggy, and windy morning.

Summer seemed to linger too long at school, so the leaves on campus are finally turning.

With Thanksgiving break in about 3 weeks, the reality has set in that those wonderful Indian Summer days are far behind us.

So it’s time I plan ahead for winter coats.

So without further ado, here are my Friday Favorites from Warehouse.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone!

I enjoyed my first day of fall break by sleeping in as late as I possibly could, and by watching some movies on Netflix.

I finally watched the Oscar nominated True Grit, and I must say, it was fantastic. (And that’s coming from someone who has nothing to do with western films.)

Random fact to throw out there: I actually auditioned for the role of Maddie Ross in True Grit.

Anyways, with the leaves casually beginning to fall off the trees at my house and the air beginning to grow crisp, I realized it’s time to begin to break out the cozy sweaters and cardigans.

Which brings me to my Friday Favorites.

Here are some sweaters that are on my wish list for the cold weather ahead.

People Tree: Philanthropical Fashion

Happy Thursday!

How would you like to be able to wear stylish quality clothing and help a good cause all at the same time?

Well you can do just that by buying clothing from People Tree.

People Tree has been a pioneer in Fair Trade and environmentally sustainable fashion in the UK since 2001.

People Tree works to improve the lives and environment of  artisans and farmers in developing countries across the globe who work to make quality eco-friendly clothing.

Emma Watson has been a supporter of People Tree in the past, and even helped design several clothing lines for People Tree.

If you cannot order the clothing from the UK, in the US  you can purchase pieces from People Tree’s collection from ASOS.

It’s a great way to be able to look and feel beautiful on the inside and out, and know you are helping to make someone’s life better.

Two of my favorite dresses to wear are from People Tree, and I always feel good when I wear them. They’re a good reminder to have knowing that in some small way, I’m helping others.

You should do the same!

Here are some of my favorite People Tree pieces from ASOS and the People Tree website.

Color of the moment: Oxblood

Happy Wednesday to you all!

I am really excited that my fall break starts tomorrow afternoon.

Celebrating this wonderful season, I thought I would showcase my favorite pieces that come in Fall Fashion’s biggest color of the moment: Oxblood.

The word may not be appealing, but the shade is divine!

I hope to incorporate it into my wardrobe this season.

New Writing

I just wanted to share with you all that I have started a second blog called Politichic.

It’ll highlight my love of two of my favorite words: “Politic” and “Chic.”

I’ll be focusing on my love of political fashion.

“The art of dressing politically.”

Manicure Monday

Happy Monday to you all!

I cannot believe that another week is gearing up. I’m excited for this week, because I get to go home for fall break on Thursday.

I also couldn’t believe the weather this morning! It’s feeling like winter with an icy cold rain.

What perfect opportunity to debut my new Anthropologie jacket.

Paying homage to the weather, I decided to paint my nails in Essie chinchilly, which is described as a “sleek granite gray.”

My nails are just as gray as the clouds and just as sleek as the wet sidewalks I cross on my way to class.

Nailed it. (Pun intended)

Shop It To Me: Anthropologie Style

Happy Friday  to you all!

This past week I received an email from a friend inviting me to join “Shop It To Me,” a free personal shopping website. Intrigued, I decided to check it out, and let me tell you, I LOVE it!

Basically you get a personalized shopping page where you check off your favorite brands, retailers, sizes, and price range. Then, “Shop It To Me” scours the internet for you, bringing together all of your information to give you the best online sales and deals on the items you’re interested in purchasing.

“Shop It To Me” found the cutest jacket from Anthropologie for me that was was originally around $130, but was on sale for $50!

Basically every brand and retailer are on the site, and there is even a site available for those located outside of the US.

If you would like to join, let me know, and I’ll “invite” you. Once you get 10 people to sign up for it, you’ll get a $10 gift card!

Okay, so I know that it sounds like I was forced to endorse “Shop It To Me,” but I honestly wasn’t.

I was just really excited to share my great deal with you!

Gracious as Grace

Happy Thursday!

Grace Kelly once said, “I would like to be remembered as someone who accomplished useful deeds, and who was a kind and loving person. I would like to leave the memory of a human being with a correct attitude and who did her best to help others.”

I know that it can seem repetitive sometimes to keep referring back to the bygone eras of the past, but sometimes looking back at the past can help us live better lives in the present and hopefully, the future.

Classiness never goes out of style.

Princess Grace Kelly is an icon we as human beings should never forget.

We live in a time where social media thrives off scandal and anything remotely risqué.

I believe it’s important to not forget those icons of the past, such as as Princess Grace, who lived their lives in a poised, polite, and sophisticated manner.

I hope to live my life in the same manner as Grace did, and I hope that you will as well look upon her with the same inspiration and admiration that I do.

Just a little food for thought.

Wishful for Windows

Wonderful Wednesday to you all!

Do you ever have those moments where you just stop in your tracks and imagine what the whole world has to offer?

Well today is one of those days for me.

Sometimes you just cannot help but to daydream out your window and picture the finer things in life.

What better way than to spark that curiosity then by “peering through the looking glass” a la Alice in Wonderland.

Windows are our looking glasses into the outside world, so take a glimpse at something visionary today.

Nothing screams fall like Burberry

Going off of my Autumnal crave here are some of my favorite looks from the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2012/ Fall 2021 RTW collections.

Nothing screams “I want cold weather” like Burberry.

Christopher Bailey, I tip my hat off to you.
