Reading & Reflection

It certainly has been quite a while since I last posted.

I finished my second year of university recently. It has been quite an eye opening experience, coming to the realization that you’re halfway through, and that much closer to making a living in the “real world.”

I will be departing for London in August, and cannot wait to see what this new adventure holds for me.

I’m determined to write more this summer, and get back into this passion of mine.

Another determination of mine is to read a lot of literature this summer.

I’ve recently read , I’ll Never Be French (no matter what I do), a fantastic memoir about an American man who moves to Brittany, and the cultural barriers he faces on a daily basis.

In excitement of my trip to England, I’ve read the literary classics Pride and Prejudice, and Emma by, as you know, the one and only Jane Austen.

I’ve vowed to read all of her works this summer, and to also check out other 17th and 18th Century English classics.

Turning over to music, I’ve been really into the band Rose’s Pawn Shop recently. Out of California, I saw them play several times at FloydFest over the years. My mother made an acquaintance with the lead singer, Paul.

They have a folksy Indie feel, which I love.

Check them out!
