Today started out as any other ordinary day. I got up and opened my closet and couldn’t figure out what to wear. All of my clothes just seemed too boring! While going through my dresser, it finally dawned on me what to wear. I pulled out my trusty Tiffany’s bracelet. Whenever I’m having a wardrobe crisis, I know that I can always turn to Tiffany’s jewelry to accessorize any of my boring outfits and make them chic. The moment I laid my eyes on the small robin’s egg blue box, I immediately pictured Audrey Hepburn channelling Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Holly could always turn to her pearls and black dress just like I turn to my Tiffany’s bracelet to feel put together. Putting on my bracelet, I understand why Holly would always peer into the Tiffany’s display. Wearing Tiffany’s jewelry always makes a woman feel classy and glamorous. In a blink of an eye, I went from feeling boring and ordinary to classy and elegant. Holly Golightly would be proud.
Yesterday I came across one of my mother’s vintage Chanel No. 5 bottles from the seventies. Chanel was her trademark scent during the disco decade. That goes to show how timeless the scent has been for almost eighty years. Released in 1922, Chanel No. 5 was Madame Chanel’s first fragrance. Today, it is considered to be the world’s most famous perfume. When I photographed the iconic bottle, I couldn’t help but stop and picture the classic combination of a strand of pearls and red lipstick. As one of the mottos I live by, the legendary designer once said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
With Christmas right around the corner, the holiday party season is officially upon us. The thrill of wearing the season’s finest cocktail dresses leaves us ignorant of the fact that there will be numerous delectable treats to devour. While many make exercise their New Year’s resolution, there is no reason why you can’t look your best while still being able to consume all of the season’s delights. Cue, the Optical Illusion dress.
A-Listers such as Kate Winslet have been spotted in versions by Stella McCartney. While not all of us can afford the fabulous $1600 frock, I’ve come across these equally chic versions from ASOS. I’ll definitely be incorporating this fashion staple into my wardrobe.
Welcome to Charming and Chic! With the Christmas holiday upon us, I thought it would be a great time to start my new blog. I want to share my interests and the things that I love with others. With that being said, I want to share a quote from one of my icons, Audrey Hepburn. The lovely Hepburn once said, “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
